MEN & WOMEN

Saint George Methodist Men (SGMM)

The Methodist Men at Saint George Methodist Church include all men of the congregation and meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 AM for breakfast, fellowship, and a short devotion. This group is actively involved in serving the church and community, including leading the Ramp Ministry and maintaining outdoor decorations for Christmas and Easter. All men are invited to be part of this group and take part in its fellowship and service.

Saint George Methodist Women (SGMW)

The Saint George Methodist Women (SGMW) include all women of the church and bring together the three Circles: Joyful Hearts, Ennis Sandifer, and Foundation of Faith. This group plays a key role in serving both the church and the community. They lead ministries like Mission Meals, providing meals for those who are sick, homebound, or in need, and organize church dinners throughout the year.

One of their largest outreach efforts is the annual Tea Room, a spring tradition that brings the church and community together for fellowship while raising funds for local and global missions. The SGMW also decorate the Sanctuary and Parler Hall throughout the year, helping create a welcoming and meaningful worship environment. Through all they do, they are committed to serving others and supporting the mission of the church.

SGMW Circle Meetings:

  • Joyful Hearts meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM in Parler Hall.
  • Ennis Sandifer meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in Parler Hall.
  • Foundation of Faith meets on the third Sunday of each month at 9:30 AM in the Youth Room.

If you’re interested in joining a Circle, please contact the church office for more information.

Women’s Ministry at SG

The Saint George Methodist Women, or SGMW, is composed of all the women in the congregation and represents a unified combination of the church’s three Circles: Joyful Hearts, Ennis Sandifer, and Foundation of Faith. This group plays a vital role in the church's mission and community efforts. They oversee the Mission Meals, ensuring that meals are prepared and delivered to those in need within the community, especially the sick, elderly, and shut-ins.

One of their largest initiatives is the Tea Room, held every spring. This annual event is a cherished tradition in the church and the community, featuring a delightful tea service with homemade treats, tea, and fellowship. The Tea Room is not only a time for the church and community to come together, but it also serves a greater purpose—raising funds to support both local and global missions. All proceeds from the Tea Room are dedicated to outreach programs that assist those in need, whether nearby or around the world. The SGMW work diligently to make this event a success each year, making it a significant contributor to the church’s outreach efforts.

In addition to their work with the Tea Room and Mission Meals, the SGMW also lead various church dinners throughout the year, providing meals for special church events and gatherings. They are also responsible for decorating the Sanctuary and Parler Hall for each season, ensuring the church reflects the beauty and spirit of the liturgical calendar. The SGMW are committed to serving God through acts of service, fellowship, and mission work.
